No Till Gardening & Cover Crops

  • 58 Codman Road Lincoln, MA, 01773 United States (map)

Want to learn more about no-till? So do we! Through the generous sponsorship and planning of the Lincoln Garden Club and the Lincoln Agricultural Commission, we have the opportunity to learn from two seasoned no-till farmers in this third class of our Healthy Soils Series.

Douglas Wolcik and Kayleigh Boyle—formerly of Gaining Ground Farm in Concord—will discuss how to incorporate no-till practices into your home garden or commercial farm. Learn how to set up permanent beds using only hand tools, take & interpret soil tests, amend soils for optimum soil health, manage pests and disease with best practices, and how to cover crop in a no-till system.

Kayleigh and Doug each have over 12 years of farming experience and are passionate about innovative, small-scale, sustainable agriculture. After many years managing farms in the greater Boston area  (Kayleigh at Gibbet Hill Farm in Groton, MA, and Doug at Gaining Ground in Concord), they started Breadseed Farm together– a 1/2 acre no-till farm in Craftsbury Vermont in the fall of 2020.  During the spring of 2021, they put up a greenhouse, raised 120 no till beds by hand, and planted out a diverse array of vegetable crops.

SIGN UP HERE for this online class on 4/5! After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Please consider donating to support this and future workshops. Your financial support will help purchase supplies, soil testing kits, educator fees, and publicity. If you are unable to contribute at this time, please still join us — learning about soils can support healthy soils, too!
